Hi Charlas,
I have tried this with no success. In safe mode I even took over the whole system32-folder, which worked, until it came to msdtvvdec.dll (and several other files) which couldn't be taken over (error message with the request more or less to skip tose files, the rest worked)....
When I right-click on msdtvvdec.dll (in safe mode), then the system hangs (endless rotating circle), and I have to kill the process with the task manager.
??
Regards
same same;
again: after starting regsve32 I get 50% CPU usage, after repating the input logically 100%;
in safe mode I seem not to be able to rightclick any files (have to kill the task);
last idea was to kick out all registration item in the registry, but it will not allow it (in safe mode)
Hi all,
A Couple of folks have already asked, but I did not find a reply;
Getting this dll working, does that bring us any closer to getting the Hauppauge HD-PVR 1212 working to record HD over component to H264?
I would luuuurve to be able to get this going, so would Hauppauge probably lol....
I'm still stuck in SVIDEO through a PVR150 land :(
I have installed TV Pack on a clean Vista SP1 install. Most things are working fine, but I keep getting a message box saying "windows video analysis process stopped working and was closed" When I close this message I get another message saying that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has stopped this process.
Other problems I have are:
1. At the start of a scheduled recording and while watching another TV channel, I get a message satying No Tuner available, but the recording starts anyway and works fine.
2. During Video playback, it will work fine for a long time then freeze and stutter so bad I have to restart.
3. While watching TV or ripped DVD, I have has the PC crash completely and re-start.
My system is:
Q6600 quad core CPU, ASUS PM5E VM HDMI mobo with Intel G35 GPU, 3GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, BTG 3540 Blackgold dual DVB-T and dual DVB-S tuner, GDI ???? single DVB-T tuner, LG HD-DVD/BD player.
Vista SP1, TV Pack 2008, Power DVD 7.3 for BD/HD playback, Any DVD HD, Virtual Clone Drive, My Movies 2.5 client.
I've got the latest drivers for everything and all recommended and important windows updates.
Are these problems related? Why does DEP stop the video analysis process? Which DLL/EXE is the video analysis process - if I know I can tell DEP to leave it alone.
WAF has hit rock bottom since I moved from XP MCE to TV Pack. I don't want to have to go back and loose BBC HD and BD/HD DVD. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ben
Hi Ben,
I have had the error about the Video analysis process numerous times - apart from it appearing, it doesn't appear to have caused me any problems - touch wood!
Never had number 2 - wonder if thats down to the onboard GPU? I have an Nvidia graphics card, as the windows experience is almost double with it, as opposed to using the onboard GPU.
Can't say I've had the same problem as number 3 - are there any details in the event viewer that may help with 2 or 3?

and the following example of a tuner error:
I also get a lot of warnings saying that media center is unabale to communicate with a tuner. This is an ANALOG tuner - My BTG3540 has hybrid analog/digital tuners but they are setup in VMC as digital.
Any thoughts? Does this look like a Tuner driver problem?
I often get a no tuner available messeage when I switch channles or start a recording even though there are 3 DVB-T and 2 DVB-S tuners in my system.
I also see lots of events related to scheduled recordings stopping early because another recording was scehduled. Is this the split recordings problem?
ok,
the situation seems to clarify somewhat. I tried to de-register the dll in the safe mode and received the error 0x80040154, which means more or less 'class not registered..' (and also here 50% CPU-usage).
That would indicate that either the dll is not registered at all (anymore) or some modules needed for the de-registration are missing...?
This was consistent with the observation, that direct-show tools like filmerit or RadLight didn't show the dll as registered anymore, but TV was still working. But if I removed or renamed the file, TV stopped...So it was partly de-registered, but not quite. Therefore the registration of the new dll didn't work.
So I started with a new image (SP1 with TV-Pack and updates), granted ownership of the dll to each and everybody. Went to the registry (as admin) and did the same with every instance in the registry i could find, mentioning 'msdtvvdec'.
Then I re-registered some dlls which were mentioned in the net in context with error 0x80040154, like msxml3.dll or atl.dll...(I don't believe this step is really significant, but...).
Then, and I think this might be important, I switched on the UAC.
After this I started cmd as admin and de-registered msdtvvdec.dll: Voila! the confirmation pop-up window came nicely. I switched the files and registered the new dll and got again a confirmation...so everything seems finally ok, except: the HD channels still don't work...
I applied the reg-hack:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MediaCenter\Settings\TVConfig]"fAllowDvbsH264"=dword:00000001"fAllowDvbtH264"=dword:00000001
but still no success.
Any hints?
You do not need to de-register the dll. You only need to take ownership, then re-name it. And you do not need to register the hacked dll either.
I had loads of problems trying to de-register it until I came across a post on TGB that said you don't need to. I just took ownership, renamed, copied the hacked dll across and fired up media center. didn't even need to re-boot.
