EBH,
also this (simply replacing, not deregistering and registering od the dll) gives no other result.
There must be something else: registry, drivers, codecs...
To clarify again: I'm using two Hauppauge Nova DVB-S2 cards with driver version 26109 but also 25351 does not work. Up to now I have not istalled any UDR drivers...
I would be very thankfull for any further sugestions....
I have got Vista SP1 and TV Pack 2008 on a Vaio with NVidia 8500GT graphics and Hauppauge WinTV HD-S2. I tried to install the hacked MSDTVVDEC.DLL file and had problems with messages such as "dllunregisterserver error code 0x80070005. So I did the whole thing in Safe mode and it seemed to work.
Anyway, after installing it, none of my TV channels could be accessed any more, SD or HD. It said the Video codec was missing or something...
So moved the old DLL file back, did a system restore, and I'm back to viewing SD channels again. So what did I do wrong?
UPDATE - Success!
I did it all again and it's worked!
The only difference was that last time I entered the command instructions under safe mode, whereas this time I entered them by executing the "Run" command as an administrator (which is what the instructions say.....)
Hello Everyone. I don´t know if this post is already dead. I have recently purchased a DVB-T HD dual tuner for my HP netbook, and found that Vista Media Center didn´t find me any HD DVB-T HD channel. So I started looking for a solution, and installed TV Pack, but again, no HD channels. So I came to this post, and I think this is the best place to get help. I have read nearly all the pages, but I do not have it clear if this is going to work for me.
Could you please explain me what should be the procedure for my case?, I live in spain, I do not know if the HD channels are marked as standard ones or HD ones.... What should I do?, I assume I have to apply the hacked dll, but something else?.
One more thing, the HD channels are working using ARCSOFT´s total media, the software that came with the tuner. But the channel I am more interested in is TVE HD, and it seems that has a different Audio format, they say it is dolby digital plus. The problem is that total media does not seem to support the format, so I get no sound for this channel. Do you think I will have this audio with the hacked dll?, if negative, do you know any solution to have the audio in this channel, either with total media or VMC?. I have test it in windows 7 media center and the channel works perfect, video and audio...
Best regards and thank you very much in advance.
IIRC you just need the hacked DLL (32bit only available) and TV Pack, but if you've tried Windows 7 why would you want to use Vista?

So I don´t need to do the DVBView settings, then, do I?.
I tried in a windows 7 of another PC, not mine, that is why I can not go on using with windows 7.
Best regards and thank you very much for all the DLL work and the fast answer.

Not sure what you mean by DVBView settings, there was a setting you could change in the registry to enable mpeg teletext or whatever it was called, but I never bothered.
I can't take any credit for the modified DLL, nothing to do with me, but I did make good use of it.
If you can afford to I would strongly suggest upgrading to Windows 7, if your laptop is running Vista then you should have no problem with drivers, any you can't find specifically for W7 just use the Vista ones and run the installer in Vista compatibility mode.
I was partly responsible for the patched DLL, but that was over 2 years ago now! What I would suggest is upgrading to Windows 7 - it will make everything much easier.
Yes, I know, and I thank you for it.
I know the best thing should be to upgrade to windows 7, but I do not want to spend the money and time to do it right now. Currently Vista is OK for me.
The DVBViewer settings I talk about is one thing I read that you should reconfigure the channels or something like that if the HD channels in my region are marked as HD, instead of normal channels. Do you know if this is needed for me?.
Best regards and thanks for the support.

DVBViewer is a totally separate program, nothing to do with Windows Media Centre. I think you might be getting confused slightly, I know with ITV HD we had to do a manual scan and enter the tuning frequencies into Windows - that's explained in the link I posted above, perhaps you need to do that as it may not be in the channel list that Vista gets.
OK, I understand, so you do not know if HD channels in spain will need the manual scan, don´t you?.
I will put the DLL and try, and if I do not get any HD channel, I will try the DVBViewer procedure.
Best regards and thank you very much for all your work and support.

Well, yesterday I made the procedure to change the DLL, I search channels in VMC and I think it found some new, but with strange names like unknown and a number, and some with a star..... Anyway, I could see non of them, So I am afraid the hack file did not work for me, any suggestion different from installing Windows 7?.
Best regards.
