Has anyone managed to get a CallerID system working without loads of hassle? I did try TapiRex a while ago, but couldn't get it to work, but I think this was as much because of my phone being from my cable provider (Virgin) as it was TapiRex and my modem.
Be nice to see a successful instal, and a good set of notes.

Note that the server (pc with the modem) solution works fine under Vista x64 and Win 7 Beta x64 as well. The client (as well as the extender) is 32-bit.

I use tapirex on my machine with success. (7MC)
YAC on WHS
Tapirex as a listener.
For anyone searching for a fix for the above - you can select a name for the modem in the "MSN properties" of Tapirex.
I do, however, have another problem. The photographs for my contacts do not appear when someone calls. The names and numbers from the database appear, but not photograph. Interesting the pictures do appear in the "call log" in application in Extras. The photographs also appear in the desktop (non-MCE) client. Any ideas what's going wrong here?
I am running the 7MC beta.
While TaipRex is nice, Identify! offer many more features, including the ability to play a message (OOO Tone (out of order, not out of office!) or a custom wave file) to play, and can play this file and hang up on unwanted callers (which is 50% of what I use this app for, besides logging and announcing incoming calls). It also has a client/server component, however, the client won't pop up over a full screen MC. I posted info about it in the 3rd party add-ins forum to see if anyone wanted to take the ball and write a MC compatible client for it. Hope someone takes me up on it, because I really like it!

turnma:Can anyone in the UK recommend a modem that will work with 64-bit Windows 7? My old modem only has 32-bit drivers, and knowing the trouble I had finding that one in the past I don't want to randomly buy another modem without knowing it's going to work! thanks Mike
Well, I'm not in the U.K., but this modem works under Windows Server 2008 x64:

I would assume that the drivers would also work under Win7, but you'd probably want to verify that first.
