yeah, same issue here ! very unhappy i have around 150 .jpg's for my videos now they are all gone ! Every VMC update breaks something else. The second level video folders now have text instead of just the folder image as before. I also hate this ! Please someone help find a fix. Thanks
I have a fix ! it's not the best but if you only use the computer as a media center its fine.
1. Click on the Start button, then on All Programs, follow by Accessories. 2. Run Windows Explorer. 3. In Windows Explorer window, click on Organize button on the menu/shortcut bar. 4. In the drop down menu, click on Folder and Search Options. 5. Folder Options dialog window will appear. Click on View tab. 6. Under the Files and Folders tree heading, check (tick) the checkbox next to Always show icons, never thumbnails option. 7. Click the OK button.
Now the images will show in VMC but you will not get a thumb view of pictuers etc in windows but VMC will show all files correctly.
Now just need a way to show thumbs in widows for pictures
sharestuff:Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately that didn't work for me.Looks like an uninstallation is inevitable! :-(
If your looking to "nuke" your settings and try again, there might be something to try before nuking your whole system.
In the ehome directory there is a big DB file, delete it and media center should be back to first run (first time you run setup). You might have to delete it in Safe mode. If any of the media center programs are using it, it wont let you do anything with it.

I am hitting the same problem too.
It seems that this trick needs help from deleting Explorer thumbnail DB too as in another thread.
