I was thinking of trying "Live Mesh" this weekend to see how well it will work. Right now I still use the "Sync Power toy" to sync my music and pictures between computers. I was wondering if anyone else has tried to use Live Mesh this way?

sk_p@msn.com:Live Mesh is not for synchronization, its for accessing folders from different devices operating through Windows OS or Mac, may it me computer or mobile.
Actually, Live Mesh is all about synchronization. It's about synchronizing your data between all your devices. That's currently achived by synchronizing selected folders between the various devices, but with the SDK that just came out, applications can use the synchronization features to synchronize data between devices w/o having to go through the file system. Currently supported devices are PC, WinMo and Mac (The latter two are in limited tech preview stage). I've been using Live Mesh since it came out as tech preview. It's one of the best things Microsoft has created thus far. I managed to get in the WinMo client tech preview. When I take a picture on my phone now it automatically gets synchronized to all my other devices as well as the cloud storage that comes with Live Mesh.

Superswiss,
Do you use it to sync between pc's as well?

Yes, I have. I'm using it to synchronize certain folders between my computers at home, my laptop and my workstation at work and my windows mobile phone. I'm using SyncToy as well to synchronize folders between my NAS, Windows Home Server and my media center PC. If you are just synchronizing between computers on the same network, SyncToy does a wonderful job if you are ok with a scheduled sync. Live Mesh synchronizes as soon as files get added or updated and it can synchronize to other devices over the Internet. That's the real power. It also allows you to access your data from any browser through the Live Mesh Desktop website and even remote desktop into any of your PC devices.
Thanks for the help, I'm hoping to be able to play with it this weekend if I have time. The bad side of me reallys wants to try the pre-beta of W7.
Yeah like superswiss I've been using it for months now and it's awesome! I unfortunatly didn't get in the winmo client beta, so I'm hoping they add some more slots soon.
My only complaint is that it won't allow you to create mesh folders on network locations, since I keep most of my data on my homeserver this does limit what I can sync with mesh. But it looks like they're working on a homeserver client so that'll take care of my one complaint. : )
