Vista 64-bit and Real Media (.RM and .RAM) in Media Center
Hello!
Believe you me, I've definitely searched a notable amount of time for this ability, but I have not yet been able to find it and I was wondering if one of you great folks could help me!
I have several *.RM and *.RAM files i would like Media Center to be able to read but haven't been able to apply the codecs for properly. By this I mean that I can play the Real Media on Media Player and Media Player Classic (great thanks to Real Alternative 1.9.0!) just fine but my Media Center just won't interact with the format! :-( I have a feeling it's because I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit and not 32-bit like some others. K-Lite Codec Pack Full installed everything I needed for the x86 programs, but not for Media Center which might be 64-bit based...
The error I receive when I select the files on Media Center (it detects them at least!) is on a blue screen and says: "Cannot Play Video. Windows Media Center cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline." Other media formats on this same location are detectable so that's definitely not the issue!
In short, how could I play Real Media format on a 64-bit system's Media Center? I would love to be able to show my buddies these files (while still conserving the *.rm format)!
Please help me out if you can. Another codec? A registry fix? Anything! Thanks!
Sam

Re: Vista 64-bit and Real Media (.RM and .RAM) in Media Center
I haven't tried realmedia files yet, but I do have vista 64bit. Have you tried installing the 64 bit version of the k-lite pack as well as the normal pack? Alternatively, and this is what I have, uninstall the k-lite pack and associated players and just install vista codec pack from shark007.net? He also has a 64bit version of his pack. You should install both. Cheers

Re: Vista 64-bit and Real Media (.RM and .RAM) in Media Center
Yep! I've been trying in the past with both K-Lite Full and K-Lite 64-bit packs installed and working together and every format works instead of real media in Media Center.
I took you suggestion and uninstalled those two and now I'm working with VistaCodecs and the VistaCodecs x64 Components (both by shark007). Still no real media for Media Center. :-(
Is it just not possible to play real media with this 64-bit Media Center version?
