I have a Dlink DSM-750 w/ firmware 1.02. I am trying to play MP4s that have been extracted from mkv's. I do this because my PS3 only plays mp4's w/ AAC and some of the mkvs are w/ AC3. Anyways, the DSM plays the files but depending on the bitrate the movie studders. The quality is awesome just annoying that the movie doesn't play smoothly. The extender is connected via wired, so the network isn't the issue. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?
Thanks,
jv
When I do media Info on these files the container info is:
Video Stream: AVC
Audio Stream: AAC
First Video Stream: 3417kbps @ 25fps, AVC (High @L4.1) (CABAC /8 ref frames)
Anything over 1600kbps studders. The higher the bitrate the more studdering. The files play flawlessly on the PC. This is very annoying and I am on the verge of returning this device if I can't get it to play....
For those that want to know how I got it to work....
All my MP4s that had a bitrate over 2mbps I had to convert back to mkvs and then use mkv2vob to transcode to mpg....
