    Hi,

I know there's lots of posts on here regarding a Black and White piture in Media Centre but I've just upgraded my PC and now I've got one! This used to work fine on XP and Vista on my old machine and my new machine still uses a Hauppauge 150 MCE card. (it's a new card as my old card was a mini one)

I have a cable box (NTL/Virgin) feeding the signal to the PC and I use a Scart to 3 Phono cable. The video phono lead is plugged into an S-video adapter and then plugs into the TV card. This has worked fine for about 4 years on my old PC but not this one.. Apparently the solution is to buy an RGB to S-video converter but these are about £75 and the fact it's been working so long in my previous set up doesn't make me what to buy one!  any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. Checked the pins on the S-video adaptor and all look fine!

    Thanks,

    NGT

Make sure you select 'composite' when you setup the stb - I had a similair issue with my Virgin STB and a PVR-150

Thanks Steve.. I'll give it a go when I get home..  When I initally set up Media Centre you had to select the TV source..

    S-Video 1, S-video 2, Composite 1, Composite 2.

It did it automatically this time so I went back in and did a manual selection. If I remember correctly I got a black and white picture on S-Video 1 the last time so I selected Composite... This time I can only get a picture on S-Video 1 (which is black and white) and when I selected Composite 1 I only get sound.

The odd thing is that I should't have to change the set up of the NTL or Starview box I use as this was working fine before I upgraded the PC. I'll definatly double check later though!

    Thanks Again.
