If my reseacrh is accurate, that device was meant as a Windows home server and has a puny Celeron processor.  You definitely want to go dual core with your media hub.  Celeron is not going to cut it.

 

I'm only using the VM to record to my WHS and not to serve any media beyond that. The only problem I'm having is the large CPU overhead required to record to the WHS due to having to turn off "large send offload" on my host NIC. Unfortunately, this is required, or you end up with extremely slow write performance when writing files from the guest to the host.

I do plan on upgrading my CPU to a E3200 but was hoping for some performance tweaks for the VM that could reduce some of that CPU usage on network transfers between the guest and the host.
