FireFlyRemote wake from S3+tripletap+Sleep Timer!!!
Hey all..
Just posting this here in case someone else is looking for the info.
I've been trying to get my old RF Firefly remote (and possibly others based off the X10)
to work properly with Vista and Win7 MC.
It would work with the Firefly software from snap stream, but had two glaring defects for me.
Triple Tap and wake from standby/sleep.
Tonight I got it to work fully...
Here is what I had to do.
1) install the Receiver and install the updated driver 6432-239 from X10's website
2) Follow the instructions on the Eventghost website:
http://www.eventghost.org/wiki/X10%20Remotes
Do not install the driver available from that website!!!
3) install and setup Eventghost.
Life is good...
No issues with remote and still responding properly after wakeup.
Note: If anyone wants the Eventghost Config file I used, let me know and I can email it to you or post it here if there is interest..I even got the Mouse Mode setup in there and added a key to turn on a batch file that runs a timer and then puts the PC to sleep. With Multitap I can tell it to set the "Sleep Timer" with 30, 60 or 90 minute delay, but these can be changed to other lengths are desired.
Note2: Every 3rd wakeup from remote will wake it up, then go back to sleep again. You can turn it on again, but Media Center will not be running but the scheduler service will be still running.
