Controlling VMC via web commands
Hey guys... What's the secret to getting VMC to recognize commands from a seperate opened port? I know this is possible as I have come across some apps that allow remote control from a laptop, etc. since these are web based, i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this concept. are they indeed seperate applications, or can commands be sent via a web browser? (given the appropriate host web site, of course)

Re: Controlling VMC via web commands
They work in a client-server capacity, typically via .NET IIS hosted applications or using Named Pipes.

I think
this
is what you are looking for. They have a free demo Autonomic controls is the company and they make a good product but it is pricey. This makes the media center controlled through a flash based web pages. It makes for a pretty slick setup and it supports pandora, did I mention it also controls the extender(s)

Re: Controlling VMC via web commands
I second vmccontroller. It isn't $800 like other products and it works on Vista and Windows 7.
Ben How good can it be, if it isn't HD? Engadget HD
