Using a Gefen scaler is the only way I've heard of doing it also.
Those T12 touch screens are pretty nice as well!

BlackandBlue I have 1080p going to my 58" plasma and to my 7" touchscreen. I use a Gefen VGA to DVI scaler plus. That way I can clone MCE on both (for when I only want music, dont have to turn the plasma on). Now, if someone can find a way to run Bluray on a clone setup (even if only to one of the 2 screens), you would be my new best friend. I only had it wokring with Superbad, one of the other flicks I tried wouldnt display.

I'm pretty sure you can get this working with BluRay, by using AnyDVD HD. It just needs to be running in the background.
How about one of these in clone mode

bowThe Universal Remote MX-6000 does list cover art. Although it does not have an EPG yet. Nevertheless, I couldn't be happier with the remote. I even have it programmed to control all my lights through Mcontrol. It is pricey however ($1000 for the remote and another $250 for the software from Autonomic).
Are you getting 2 way feed back on the MX-6000 for your lights? Autonomic's software is also included with the MX-6000 and MX-5000 remotes. It isn't an additional fee.

No two way. In fact, I am just using the MX-6000 to send RF/IR commands that are picked up via USB-UIRT and interpreted as lighting commands via macro's in MControl. Its pretty simple to set up and the MX-6000 already has the graphics installed for lighting control.
The Autonomic software is not included. It is an additional charge. I understand its not the cheapest touchscreen remote on the planet, however I can't say enough about its functionality (less epg data). The only downside to this method is that I'm not confident Mcontrol is going to be around much longer given their recent lack of technical support.
Thats what I thought. We have similar setups. I'm using a MX-980,USB-UIRT and mcontrol as well. It is a bummer that embedded home automations wasn't able to profit enough from Mcontrol. While not perfect, it is very good when you factor in function and price.
Due to the limited 2 way modules from URC, I haven't purchased or setup any of their 2-way remotes. I'm pretty sure that software comes with the remote. Atleast that is what I remember from the MX-6000 class I took. no big deal either way.
How are you managing what IR commands are associated with what Macros. Since I have 30 Z-wave devices, I'm using a spread sheet to help keep track of everything. I was just curious how you manage the data since we are doing similar things.
I threw in the towel a while back and now use VMCController and Mcontrol to launch pre determined play lists or internet radio depending on what IR command I send from my remote. Works great.. You could use inteliremote instead of Mcontrol to monitor IR commands and launch other applicatins. I just happened to already use Mcontrol.
Now only if I could find a board with a integrated sound card that had drivers that will simultaneously output digital and analog audio at the same time, life would be good.
Thanks for the information about ultramon. I haven't played with their stuff in a long time.

This one looks like it may work out. It supports ful HD res so cloning wont be a problem. I can see this working as a secondary monitor to navigate libraries without having to turn on the big screen. But can you somehow tweak this to be used as a wireless remote? To make it truly wireless you will need to do a few things
1. Split an HDMI signal (possible)
2. Wireless USB and HDMI (possible but pricey)
3. Stand alone powersource (see here for battery)
4. Possibly build some sort of enclosure to house all the various components.
Features:1920X1080, HDMI ,Touchscreen ,built in 1watt speaker, optional battery, available in 7, 8 and 10 inch models
Where does it say 1080P ?
