Hi, For a while I've had BBC HD and Luxe running fine on my Vista Media Centre using TV Pack and the standard h264 hack. I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 RTM (build 7100) with no problem, except that now when I watch or record either BBC HD or Luxe, the picture breaks up into artefacts when there's any significant movement in the picture, a problem I never had with Fiji. The h264 signal is obviously being decoded, as I do get a picture and Dolby Digital sound, it's just that it seems like the signal can't be processed fast enough any more. I did wonder if my dish had moved out of alignment, but I've checked that and the signal strength is just as before. I did want to try playing back something I'd recorded in HD on Vista to see if playback was OK in W7, but unfortunately I had deleted all my "ok" HD h264 stuff, so I'm not sure if this is a reception issue, or a decoding issue. Does anyone have any similar experience or suggestions? Anyone know if I can use the hacked h264 codec from Fiji with Windows 7? I am using latest drivers for all hardware, and this is a dedicated Windows Media Centre machine with no additional software running apart from AVG antivirus. Thanks for any help/advice! Neil

    Read this thread here: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/t/73544.aspx

Short summary is that BBC changed the bit rate on the BBC HD signal which causes issues with ATI graphics cards.  Only solutions at the moment are either to disable hardware acceleration of H264 decoding or switch to a nVidia graphics card.

Windows 7 (x64) Media Center: Core i5 650, 4GB DDR3, 2x Pinnacle 7010ix (2x DVB-S, 2x DVB-T), 2x 2.5" WD 250GB RAID-1, 3x 2TB Samsung 3.5", 2x 1.5TB Samsung 3.5" (all hidden in rack cabinet in garage)* Extender 1: X-box 360 Slim 4GB, 46" Sharp 1080p LCD TV, Logitech Z-5500 Speakers Extender 2: Linksys DMA-2100, cheap 26" LCD! * Replacing old WHS since Microsoft removed Drive Extender and did not include Media Center. SyncToy used to duplicate certain folders and planning to use Acronis True Image for PC backups.

Thanks for that link - I had tried looking through the forums but was obviously searching for the wrong text. I'll try disabling HW acceleration for now. Thanks again, Neil
