Hi, i'm running vista and want to connect my xbox to it. Media centre doesn't automatically find my xbox and when i add the extender manually i'm given the error that thet extendor cannot be found, though i can see the xbox in the network managers list of network devices. My laptop found the xbox and installed with no problem. My router is a bt homehub. The pc is wired to the router while the xbox and the laptop are both wireless. My computer has a Realtek network adaptor.

Having researched into the cause of my problem i have looked at everything, like ensuring that the ports were forwarded, that windows firewall was allowing upnp that everything i could find was enabled as it should be but with no luck. Could anyone help me fiqure this one out. I's almost as if Media centre has become damaged but i don't want to reinstall vista.

     thanks

I assume this is an XBOX360.  Are you running the extender setup on the XBOX?  Run it it on the media center as well and make sure you can ping the XBOX from the media center.
