I have two DMA 2100 extenders using wired connections to a Vista x64 media center PC with TV pack installed. Everything works fine on the extenders most of the time but I keep getting the error "Video Error: Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly" when trying to play recorded TV programs. I can eventually get the recording to play by either playing another recording for a few seconds then returning to the original recording or switching back to the 'Play' screen and hitting 'Play' or 'Resume' a few times.

I've re-installed Vista a few times but the problem always returns. I've also tried swapping between ATI and Nvidia graphics cards.

Can anyone shed any light on the issue?

    Some system info:

    Intel i7 processor

    Gigabit motherboard

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE (also tried ATI HD3450)

    TV cards: 1 X Hauppauge T-500, 1 X TD-500 (both PCI)

FYI - just upgraded VGA to ATI HD4850 and swapped out the TD-500 TV card for HVR-2200. Still seeing the same symptoms on extenders.

I've seen that ramdomly happen under Vista.  I'm on Win 7 with new hardware and I not yet seen this happen. Strange, but I am happy.

I Have Vista with TV Pack, and have the same problem so twice in a week. When I view live TV and then return back to the video, it is "solved". Also the other way around (when Live TV gives this error, I switch to a Recording, and then the live TV is ok again.

Seems buggy, and EOL anyway the DMA 2100/2200 (I have 3 of these in house, so I stick to it I am afraid).

I never had the problem with Vista (no TV Pack) and don't have the problem with Win7. Have you considered upgrading to Win7?
