I have a bunch of mini discs of family movies that I'd like to rip have show up on my xbox 360 Media Center Extender.
The thing is I'd like to have the dvd menus stay entact.
I've seen hundreds of "how-to's" that say to just rip the dvd as one file, but I don't want to do that.
Could someone please walk me through the process or reply with a GOOD link that explains how to do this?
I've gotten as far as getting the DVD Library to show up on my Xbox 360 Media Center Extender, and I've ripped one dvd to a folder on an external tbyte drive.
I can see other forms of media on this drive (ie. pictures, music, recorded tv), just not the VIDEO_TS (VOB) files that I ripped. I grabbed a program called MediaCenterLinks that is supposed to make links to the VOB files, but so far no success. Can someone please help and point me in the right direction?
The main thing is...I don't want to loose the ability to navigate menus on the ripped DVD.
Again...this is for the Xbox 360...not my PC Media Center (things work fine there). I want to do this on my Xbox 360.
Thanks!
I would like to do this too, but as far as I can tell, nobody has figured out how to do it.
In theory it would be trivial since the XBox is already a DVD player, but apparently Microsoft deliberately hobbled the XBox's ability to play DVDs from a remote file system, presumably fearful of being sued by Hollywood.
