    hello dburckh!

Thanks you for this update 1.2.5 of the remuxtool. I am in France and since June was not able to process the records from HD channel in France. Now it works. It is easier than using graphstudio and dump.ax filter!!. Thanks again to maintain this tool.

    Hi,

I use remuxtool for converting wtv files, but Sometimes it can't transcode the whole wtv file. It just copy the sound track into a ts which doesn't contain the video ! The wtv works fine in mce.

Here a copy of what remuxtool says:

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.487 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] -0x2a MPEG2 PES

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] +0x2b (fra) MPEG Audio V1L2 Joint Sterio 48000 Hz 192 kb/s

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] -0x29 (qad) MPEG Audio V1L2 Joint Sterio 48000 Hz 192 kb/s

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] -0x2e Unknown

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] -0x2f Unknown

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] -0x2c MPEG-2 MP-ML 720x576i fps: 25 AR: 16:9

    11/20/2011 06:56:29.488 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] +0x2d Unknown

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    11/20/2011 06:56:37.765 INFO  [util.WtvToMpeg] Finished

How can I put an 1 minute sample of the wtv here ? In fact the question is how do I make the cut ?

    Than you.

    Hi,

in fact I found why it doesn't work. remuxtool found 4 video streams. And the first one is not good. With the CLI, remuxtool try to extract the first one (which, here isn't the good one) So the TS file has just an audio track and no video.

If I open the same wtv file with the gui I can choose which video track to extract.

How can we do this with the CLI ? I don't see any option to do so.

The -all option is for audio only.

So does someone know how to choose the ideo track to write in the ts file with the CLI ???

    Thanks a lot.

+1 to selecting tracks (audio/video) on the CLI... In fact, +100 to this! :)

I use a webstreaming server to remotely access video on my Homeserver. Though WHS2011 can natively stream the WTV, the iPad server cannot.

In my case, the highest bitrate audio track is empty (dont ask me why... ask my cable provider I guess).

What happens is that I get a .TS file with both audio tracks. But the webserver picks the wrong one and I can't change it, so there is no audio.

The language of both tracks is the same, so -lang won't work.

For my setup, a PC does the recording. A batch script then is called to convert this to TS and move it to the Homeserver. Since this is automated, I cannot use the GUI. Please, please can you include track (audio for me, video for davidmarli) selection on the CLI? Then I could simply select the right audio track and your tool would to the trick simply and efficiently for me. :)

It's a pity, but afaik dburckh gave up development on remuxTool. It is the fastest tool out there but there are occationally issues with some streams. Anyway, don't expect dburckh to implement new features - but luckily meanwhile there are other tools that convert wtv.

So, for streams that aren't working, try ffmpeg which does work on all files for me. You can use "-map" to get exactly the streams you want with ffmpeg.
