I am using the TV Pack w/ a Hauppage 1600. I have everything working in Media Center in regards to hardware, sees the the clear QAM tuner and finds a couple of channels when it scans. Here is my issue, the channels that I want are 0.703, 0.705, etc. My clear QAM tuner on the tv finds these fine, and the Media center finds two. When it scans it also finds channels in the 400's, like 404, and these channels work. I want to add the channels that it is missing but I can not add QAM channels that start with a 0 and I cant add channels above 158 that do not have sub channels. Is there a way around this?

Also I look at HD Homerun's channel listing site and it shows that my clear QAM should be 105.1 for example, but that does not work on the Media Center, but does on the clear QAM TV. Are their clear QAM channels I can get on my TV but the MEdia Center can't receive?

Thanks for your help it is very much appreciated.

I use a Hauppage clear QAM on my Vista without TV Pack.  I get NBC, CBS, and FOX.  On my TV tuner I get ABC and WGN.  I still don't understand it really.  On another TV tuner I think I get them all!!  I have Comcast Chicago and I've read that their QAM channels are tricky so I just figure that's the real problem.  I just live with what works and record stuff off of NBC mainly on the Vista.  I watch Cubs games in HD using the TV tuner.  I also get other people's On-Demand streams using the TV tuner.  I am not sure that's something Comcast wants, but it happens...Q

LOL.... I get the OnDemand streams as well... pretty funny.

I just wish I could get the networks on my Media Center in HD to work.

I'm in Gilbert using Cox and an AverMedia A180 card for ClearQAM tuning.  I'm not sure how you enter these channels manually, but I can confirm that VMC w/TVPack can tune all of them with the A180 card.  I was fortunate enough to have 13 QAM channels found during the channel scan, including all the major networks.  I guess if it had missed some I'd be in the same boat as you, so I'm also curious about what we would have to do.

Did it find the channels at 0.703, etc?

I'm not at home now to check them all, but I know for a fact that it found 0-703, 0-705, 0-706, 0-708, 0-710, 0-712, 0-715.  It also found the "My45" channel, I think it was 0-709.  It found a handful of less interesting channels as well.

Anybody know how to add these channels manually?

Good times.... I wish my TV scanned faster so I could scan them all the time.....

Anybody know if there is a way to add channels other than through the Media Center GUI?

Post the question in the Phoenix HDTV thread on AVSforum - there are several using QAM, but most use a HD Homerun.  Someone there might be able to help.

I do know all the PSIP data is 0.YYY since 2007 or early 2008 when Cox changed QAM from being haphazard to a code that is similar to their channel lineup.

I have 2 HVR-1600s and a HD Homerun, but I get my HDTV OTA.

Just in case anybody has this issue it turns out it was my Signal from cox causing the issue.... TVs were fine but the TV Card apparently needed a stronger signal... All is good now!!

What do you mean by "On Demand" signals? Is it just the blue screen that says "Sports in Demand"?

wait a second, I am also in Gilbert, and i have a AverMedia ntsc / atsc kingbird 2 express 1 hybrid tv tuner (that comes with the hp touchsmarts) and I can get 14 HD channels, and the rest are in analog. Problem is y ou have to keep running setup to switch between the two in media center. I wish Aver Media Center worked instead so that I didn't have to keep doing setup, or would that still be an issue? And what is tv pack, because I hear a lot about this?  I have digital cable in this room and I think if we pay for it, we shoudl be able to use it!  hmph.  my cable guy said it wouldn't work unless i get a hauppauge tv tuner and  use WinTv. AverMediaCenter doesn't even find my tv tuner. I am probably doing something wrong though. hmm.

I'm having some issues with my QAM channels. Frequently they will become pixelated, but other times they are fine. I'm thinking it's got to be the signal coming into the house since it happens in multiple rooms. I imagine you had to call Cox to get this fixed? Did you find it difficult to find someone who knew what you were talking about when you mentioned QAM?
