If you are running Vista Home Premium you need to find MCETunerApp2.0 or the other program that is similar (name escapes me) to easily add the tuners to the registry, or you have to manually add the tuners to the registry.
OR you can upgrade to Ultimate which allows four tuners in each tuning space (analog and digital).
Just use the MCE Tuner App to enable all the 4 of hte HDHomeRun Tuners

And then use the registry settings from this site to set the Record Order, Pefered, and Watch order for the tuners.

You shouldn't need Ultimate or TV Pack to enable all the tuners.

So if I buy a 64-bit Vista Ultimate OEM package from Newegg, then I will be able to use 4 tuners without adjusting the registry?

No. The only way to get 4 tuner support in Vista Media Center (without registry hacks) is to load TV Pack on Vista Ultimate. TV Pack can be "found" on the internet, but is not available to the public via any retail distribution channels. Windows 7 has TV Pack capability integrated into it from the get go.
Why not just load up Windows 7 and give it a try before buying Vista? You can use the Windows 7 RC until June 2010. It will be released to the public in October.

I have W7 on my laptop and I don't like it all that much. But for just a HTPC it is probably fine. I guess I could try that, it's also more expensive than an OEM of vista.
I just did a clean install of Vista, loaded up all the updates, etc., and now have it working the way I did before my old HDD failed (doh!). This time around, I loaded up TV Pack, since all of my tuning is ClearQAM and TV Pack does a much better job of dealing with digital channel lineups IMO.
The only problem is that the MCETunerApp and registry fix that previously allowed me to use 4 tuners (2 HD HomeRuns) is not doing the trick for me this time around.
Any ideas what I'm missing? Thanks in advance...
The hack doesn't work with TV Pack installed. They changed the way tuners are handled with TV Pack and Win7 Media Center. If you are running Vista Ultimate with TV Pack it should recoginze 4 tuners of the same type without using any hacks.
