ATSC Guide issues?
Okay, so I recently let go of cable television due to the fact that the major networks are broadcasting in HD now and I have a Hauppauge card that supports ATSC. I am using Vista, but have Win7 on the system as a dual boot as well. I love the netflix plugin, as well as the newly released HULU desktop which works with my MCE remote. Therefore, I see no reason to continue paying my cable company $55 per month!
So, could anyone point me to a solution that will allow me to get guide data for my ATSC channels? Anything at all? Please help as my MCE DVR is now useless with no guide data.

Re: ATSC Guide issues?
Sounds like you need the Fiji 2008 TV Pack or else a Windows 7 installation as that has the TV Pack built in.
For Vista, the TV Pack is only available to system builders selling pre-built Vista Media Center systems, but it's available semi-illicitly if you're willing to take the risk of running something that's semi-supported at best.
Either path will give you guide listings for your local TV broadcasts.

Re: ATSC Guide issues?
Have you gone through the "Setup Guide Listings" wizard in Windows Media Center? If so, does it just show that all your channels have "No Data Available"?

Re: ATSC Guide issues?
Okay, I do have TV Pack installed on my Vista machine and that's what is allowing me to even configure my chanels to recieve the ATSC stations. What I don't know is how can I setup / modify the guide without going through the whole setup the TV option that scans for new channels and such all over again.
and where do you go to "map" channels to another chanel that exists in the guide?

Re: ATSC Guide issues?
So, where do I find "Setup Guide Listings"?
AllI can find is "Setup TV" which does everything.

Re: ATSC Guide issues?
Okay, I finally figured out the answer to my situation. The issue was that I bought a TV card that supported Over the Air HD (ATSC) and set it up with my media center pc. When setting up the TV options, I had selected only ATSC over the air as my provider. There was then no tv listings available to me in my region. So, here's how I worked around the issue:
I placed my old non digital tuner back into the pc along with my new tuner.
I ran Settings/Tv/Tv Signal/Setup TV Signal again using the manual setup option when prompted. I then FIRST setup the over the Air card (only) and was told no TV listings available in my region. Then when prompted to setup another source, I said yes and setup my old tuner and chose my local cable provider as the listing source. This downloaded the guide for all their channels.
Next I went into Settings/Tv/Guide/Edit Channels and unchecked every channel that was not digital (the ones being used by my analog tuner).
Then I went back through the channel list selecting (push ok) each digital channel. In the Edit Channel Settings page, I used the Edit Listings option and was able to "map" the listings from my cable provider to my digital stations by matching them up by network (fox, cbs, nbc, abc, etc).
And that's all there was to it. Now, you may not need a "dummy card" in the system, you may be able to setup additional sources but not assign them to any hardware. I did not try this.
Good luck.
