I have an HP Pavilion Media Center desktop running Windows Vista Home Premium. I'm trying to resolve an issue with the TV Tuner. I've tried everything I can find to resolve the problem, but no success. I just need an answer to this... On the bottom of my computer, I see a list of hardware and software that was factory installed. The item I'm interested in is listed as "GENUINE WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREM. DIGITAL TUNER..." and the rest of it may have been cut off due to a lack of space on the sticker. My question: Is this software or hardware? If it's software, I can't find it to uninstall and reinstall, which is what I'd like to do. If it's hardware, what does it look like? I'd like to locate it and replace it. See link below.

Thanks
I think...
It's the Windows software that came with your computer. It must have been a special packaging of Vosta Home Prem which includes the software and key for enabling your digital cable tuner.
Find the item, "Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with Digital Cable support + External ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner with Vista Service Pack 1" on this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01593291&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3803604
Yep, that's exactly what it has to be. It was a clue in solving my Windows Media Center problem that I've been working on since the 15th of January, with no luck of resolving. After probably 50 hours of working on it and $400.00 later, with some help, I've concluded that the Windows files involved in the operation of the TV tuner have become corrupt. I have backed up all my files and will be reinstalling the operating system to it's original state here shortly.
Thank your for your time and attention in trying to help me. It is much appreciated.
Mr. Fix It
I have fixed my original problem that I came here seeking advice for in the first place. It was in fact a corrupt Windows operating system file that enables my TV tuner, that caused all of my problems. I reinstalled my Vista operating system to it's original state, and the TV tuner now works fine.Thank you for helping me out. As you can see, out of 6 billion people on the planet, only one stepped forward...I appreciate it.Mr. Fix It
Glad I could help.
And the rest of the 6 billion are not all that bad...some are my friends
