Fast Forwarding on uPnP players always terrible?
I have a D-Link DSM-520 and have it connecting to a Linux server running Media Tomb. It's a decent setup for me, but I need to know what else I can expect from other solutions? MythTV, Boxee, XBMC, etc. The ONLY thing I absolutely hate about the DSM-520 + MediaTomb experience is the fast forwarding. I can't skip ahead 30 seconds, a minute, nothing. I can only FF x2 and if (for example) I was watching a movie, made it 1 hour into it, then lost power, when I wanted to watch it again, I'd have to FF for 30 minutes to get back to that point again.
If I were to switch to another make of media player (not an extender because I loathe Vista/W7), can I expect better results with seeking or possibly get the ability to jump ahead X seconds or minutes?
If this is not the appropriate forum and should be restricted to Windows platforms, I apologize. Let me know and I'll ask the question elsewhere.
