Programs currently running or pinned to the Taskbar memorize recently opened files in their context menu. To reopen one of them, simply right-click on the application icon and select the file you want to open in the menu.

By default, you can store up to 10 recent files in the menu. If you wish, you can change this setting. Right-click the Start button and select Properties from the menu. The Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box pops up. Switch to the Start Menu tab. Click Customize. Make your choice in the Number of recent items to display in Jump Lists textbox. Here, for example, we choose to display up to 15 recent files. Confirm by clicking OK, then OK again.
